Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah would have been 108-year-old today as Ghanaians and the world at large celebrate his birthday.
The Day being a National Holiday and called “Founder’s Day” has become a debate in recent days as Government opts to reschedule the annual Founder’s Day celebration to August 4th and rename it as “Founders Day” in order to celebrate others who contributed to the birth of Ghana.
Nkrumaist movements like the CPP and NDC have been on a protest against the Nana Addo’s Government suggestion for the day which many have criticised as a distortion of Ghana’s heritage.
Certainly, Ex-President John Mahama who is a staunch Nkrumaist is against the suggestion too as he took to Instagram to pay tribute to Dr Nkrumah calling him the founder of Modern Ghana as he heaps praise on him.
