Black Starlets Start U-17 World Cup With 1-0 Win Over Colombia

The Black Starlets of Ghana started their world cup campaign on the right foot after they registered a hard fought 1-0 win over Colombia in New Delhi.
Sadiq Ibrahim converted a cross from captain Eric Ayiah in the first half to signal lift off for a team with designs on winning the ultimate title.
It was a physical and technical battle between the two teams as the Starlets continued their quick wing play style which made them the toast of fans during the African Cup earlier this year.
Captain Ayiah and Ibrahim were a constant thorn in the side of Colombia.
Despite creating many chances, the team remain profligate in front of goal, something head coach Paa Kwesi Fabian has to work on.
In the end, the team picked up the victory to move top of Group A. In the other group game, hosts India take on U.S.A.
