Legendary highlife star Akosua Agyapong is in court on a case of fraud, accused of colluding with a partner to defraud a businessman of Ghc 105,000.
Agyapong and one Frank Agyemang, aka Killer Boss, sold a parcel of land to the complainant, but he later discovered it belonged to someone else who came to dispute his ownership.
He thus reported the case to the police and both the musician and Killer Boss where picked up. At the first court date Tuesday, Killer Boss pleaded not guilty and was granted bail. Akosua Agyapong was unable to attend due to a medical issue, her lawyer revealed.
According to police, the businessman in question approached Akosua Agyapong as he needed land for some business.
She referred him to Agyemang, who showed her a plot of land opposite the West Hills mall. The trio later went to the Lands Commission where ownership of the land was verified to the complainant.
“When the businessman went to work on the land, another person came to claim ownership of the land with original documents. He reported the matter to the police leading to Akosua and Agyemang’s arrest.” Prosecuting officer ASP Agnes Boafo said.
