US based and Ghanaian born, there exists one artist ready to take the music world by storm and leave his mark.
Jay Hover, real name James Charles Tetteh, started his career as a gospel artist with the group Newgenn. After three fruitful years with the group, he’s ready to branch out on his own and like a Phoenix, rise to the stars.
Jay Hover is a weighty name and one not chosen lightly, but the gifted artist believes he can live up to it, having been blessed with a silky voice and electrifying stagecraft.

Hover is a versatile artist with strong songwriting and production skills and interest in gospel music and afrobeats. Currently signed to BuduNation Records, his time in the sun is only a short time away.
Despite not having spent a long time in the industry, his released works so far has been met with a warm reception by fans. His first ever solo single, ‘Ayele’, is the toast of town in both his current home of Massachussetts and back home in Accra. The single features Bizell Green and has garnered rave reviews.

Biography
James Charles Tetteh was born in Accra on the 22nd of March, 1989 at the Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital. James was the last among four siblings, raised by his mom Christiana Quartey, a single mother.
A staunch Christian, Christiana imparted in her son strong discipline, character and good morals which remain the anchor of his being to this day.
As a young boy, James joined the Mount Ararat Methodist church’s boy brigade as a snare drummer, and thus his love for music was born.
A natural leader, Hover’s time at the Odorgonnor Senior High School culminated in him being appointed ‘entertainment prefect’, which allowed him to further develop his passion for music and the arts.

This love blossomed fully when he furthered his education at the University of Ghana and majored in music. At that point it was inevitable the path that this new artist’s life would take. Hover is an alum of UG’s notorious Commonwealth (Vandal) Hall.
After school the young artist moved to the United States where he joined a gospel singing group known as ‘NewGenn’. It was with this group that everything came full circle and Hover entered the music scene professionally. He vastly improved his music production skills whilst perfecting his singing and songwriting abilities. Some of his most productive hours are spent in the bathroom recording and making beats.
All good things come to an end though, and Hover has now branched out from Newgenn as a single artist ready to make it on his own, although he remains an unofficial member and often helps out with their activities. He has found a new home in BuduNation Records and sees his breakthrough as only a matter of time.
Jay Hover is a strong Christian like his mother and her mother before her, and counts those two as well as the church among the strongest influences on his life.
Hover’s talent is not in question and with the start he’s had, it’s only a matter of when, not if, the entire citizenry of the two nations he call home wakes up to that fact.
