A 22-year old farmer has been sentenced to 5 years in prison by a Duayaw Nkwanta Circuit Court in the Tano North District of the Brong Ahafo Region presided over by His Lordship Alexander Graham for burglary.
According to reports, Isaac Asare pleaded guilty to charges of conspiracy, causing damage, unlawful entry and stealing and was sentenced on his own plea.
The Chief Inspector-Sampson Oduro who brought prosecution said, “the accused and his accomplice Enoch Owusu Ansah who was not in court , broke into the room of the complainant who is a banker at Techimantia on April 26, 2017 and made away with a mobile phone, a DVD player, a JDC player, shaving machine, solar charger, a strong decoder and a cash of GH¢ 50.
A report was lodged with the police and days later, the DVD player was found with a repairer who mentioned the first accused person as the owner who had brought it for repairs.”
Isaac Asare was arrested and in his caution statement admitted the offence but mentioned Enoch Owusu Ansah as his accomplice who was also arrested.
Enoch refused to turn up for trial following a bail–and trial judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest.
