Dancehall star Samini has backtracked on the tweet he sent to the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, asking to receive an invite to the Flagstaff House for his birthday.
According to the ‘Yonnah’ hitmaker, he was merely joking when he passed those comments.
Shatta Wale set the standard when he received a birthday tweet from the President, Nana Akufo-Addo, then an invite to the Flagstaff House. In the aftermath of his visit, many stars like Samini, Edem and others also asked for an invite from the President on their birthdays.
“Nakufoaddo thanks for bridging the gap between entertainment and government. Now that doors are open, December 22 is #myown oo akye.” Samini tweeted at the time.
However, in a recent interview, Samini has backtracked from the tweet, saying it was simply a joke.
“That was a joke, I was excited about fact that he was able to tweet at an artiste and the artiste replied and whatever they spoke about finally happened , so it is a sign that the president can hangout with us but really you don’t have to expect the president to be on twitter everyday to reply everyone…so I was just joking” he said on Empire Fm.
“…But on a serious note big up to the president but every Ghanaian will love to be at the flag staff house so if the opportunity comes why not grab it.” he added.
