Four Students In Cape Coast Schools Pregnant Due To Free SHS

Four senior high school students schooling in the Cape Coast municipality have become pregnant due to the NPP’s free SHS policy.
That’s the contention of Member of Parliament for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwah.
The NDC MP claims that the challenges plaguing the program has left some students without a place to stay, forcing them to rent rooms around the schools they have been posted to.
Okudzeto Ablakwah, a former deputy minister for education, made the claim whilst speaking on Asempa Fm’s political talk program Ekosii Sen.
He claimed that the inability of the students to access accommodation, forcing them to rent, has left some of them pregnant.
Ablakwah declined to name the students involved, or which school they are attending, but claims he has it on good authority that the pregnancy was due to the free SHS program.
