Jane Awindor, the Ghanaian silky voiced crooner known professionally as Efya, has come out to debunk reports that Wizkid signed her onto his record label, Starboy Worldwide.
Efya, speaking in a recent interview, said what happened was more of a collaboration between like minded stars to enable them push their music beyond the boundaries of Africa.
“The deal with Wizkid was just an affiliation we were not signed onto his label. It is a group of labels that came together so that we will push our music to the world because we all have similar goals and objectives. So our record labels came together to form an affiliation.” Efya said.
At the 2016 VGMA’s, Wizkid took to the stage to announce that he had signed Efya, R2Bees and Mr Eazi to Starboy so Efya can understand where the media got our information from.
