Ronaldinho has announced his decision to finally retire from football, hanging up his boots from the game he loves at the age of 37.
Roberto Assis, the brother and agent of the legendary playmaker, announced the news late Tuesday.
“He has stopped, it is ended,” Assis revealed, adding that there would be plans for a tribute game for the player.
“Let’s do something pretty big and nice after the Russia World Cup, probably in August. We will do various events in Brazil, Europe and Asia and, of course, we are arranging something with the Brazilian team as well.”
Real name Ronaldo de Assis Moreira, Ronaldinho Gaucho built a legendary career on the back of his incredibly natural talent and his ever present smile. He had the best spell of his career with Barcelona, whom he led to the UEFA Champions League trophy in 2006 playing some of the best football the world has ever seen.
He was adjudged the best player in the world in 2005 and won the 2002 World Cup with Brazil.
