Lawyer John Ndebugri has said that the NPP is just using the NDC’s Koku Anyidoho to cover up their nonsensical Ghana-US deal so therefore cannot jail him.
Anyidoho was picked up by CID Tuesday and has therefore been scheduled to appear before court after a bail attempt was refused.
According to Lawyer Ndebugri, this action taken by the NPP and the police is just mere tactics to cover up their senseless deal with the Americans forces.
He said: “This is a mere attempt to cover up the nonsensical US military base agreement. Koku can never go to Nsawam.
“A person is not criminally liable for an offence unless the prosecution can establish Actus Reus (physical act or omission) and the mens rea (mental state) unless the actus Reus and mens rea coincide in point and time.
“The unanswered question is; can the prosecution establish his intent?“ In the instant case, Koku could be charged for making those statements. He has done nothing prejudicial to the security of the state.” He challenged.
