The National Association of Graduate Teachers (NAGRAT) have declared an indefinite strike action, halting classroom operations of all senior high schools in the country.
According to the teachers, the action is in response to government’s failure/inability to settle outstanding arrears owed the teachers going all the way back to 2013.
At a press conference held in Accra today, Wednesday, April 4th, NAGRAT announced that the failure to receive the monies owed them have necessitated their strike action.
Government implemented its flagship free SHS program to much fanfare this academic year, but in typical Ghanaians fashion students can now go to school for free but have no teachers to tutor them.
Sounds like solid planning right there.
