It’s often the last desperate move of a sunken career and Ghanaian rap veteran Tic Tac is turning to rebranding to try and save his career.
From the heady days of ‘Philomena’ to ‘Mmaa Formula’ and beyond, Tic Tac has had a good run but these days nothing he does seem to stick for him as the industry has moved on from his style.
However, Tic Tac is making one last play to stay relevant and to do so, he’s decided to change his name. Unfortunately, the name he’s chosen is even worse than the first one, sounding like an itch.
“I am just re-branding after some years of using Tic Tac. Tic is for the future. I always say I feel like a new artiste because my desire for doing music feels the same as I started at age 10,” he revealed.
So from now on remember him as Tic.
The rapper has been trying to revive his career for the past year with an Ayalolo partnership and releasing some singles but nothing seems to be working. On April 3, he released a new single with Kidi titled ‘Pene Mame’.
