The final vote tallys from the 2018 Vodafone Ghana Music Awards have been revealed by KPMG, the firm in charge of its tabulation.
Ebony, as we all know, went home with the artist of the year award, beating back competition from Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Sarkodie and Joe Mettle.
That win was not controversial but the most controversial win was for Fancy Gadam, who’s ‘Total Cheat’ was adjudged the most popular song of the year ahead of Ebony’s Sponsor and more shockingly, Patapaa’s ‘One Corner’.
As they do every year and to quell controversy, Charterhouse has released the raw vote totals in percentages.
Ebony won the Artist of the Year by a comfortable margin, garnering 50.82% of the vote. Gadam’s ‘Total Cheat’ won most popular song of the year with 28.12%, ahead of ‘Sponsor’ (22.82%) and ‘One Corner’ (18.14%).
