This year’s Vodafone Ghana Music Awards was hosted by Ghanaian actor John Dumelo and television icon, Berla Mundi and as usual, their performance has been accessed by some entertainment critics including Mark Okraku-Mantey.
Mark Okraku-Mantey described John Dumelo and Berla Mundi’s performance on the night as abysmal and that they could have done much better than what they did.
Now, Charterhouse through its Public Relations Officer, George Quaye has jumped into the defence of John Dumelo and Berla Mundi by showering ‘praises’ on the two for their performance.
George Quaye in an interview with Naa Ashorkor on Joy FM’s Showbiz A-Z said:
“The selection of John Dumelo was not based on he being a renowned MC, that we all know…It was to balance…create a nice pair for Berla Mundi”.
George Quaye touching on John Dumelo’s general performance on the night stated that no errors were committed by the actor.
“Let us commend the young man. Did he commit any error? If you ask me, No. Was he overly fantastic? No. Did we really expect him to be overly fantastic? No. Did he deliver what he was hired to deliver? If you ask me, I will say he did.
“The gentleman sang, he rapped. A year before that is what Naa Ashorkor did. That is one of the things people commended Naa Ashorkor for. John rapped, he did the formation dance…,” George Quaye concluded.
