Only Aimless People With No Serious Business To Do Are Fans Of Music – Dr Amin Bonsu

It is a popular saying that music is the food for the soul, and that is undisputed so far. Music has proven to be very effective in relieving stress and reducing the effects of depression, amongst other psychological benefits. People from all walks of life enjoy the music of all genres. Of course, not everyone likes the same kind of music but people, in general, have their favorite genres that they listen to and support religiously.
The reason why music artistes are celebrated all over the world is that their music helps people in various ways to go through the stress and pressures of life. From jazz to rock to hip-hop to blues to highlife to soul to reggae to dancehall to Afropop, traditional music and even music from the birds, melodies have been serving as therapy right from the dawn of time to this generation and will always be there to offer comfort and relaxation.
There’s a song for every mood. A song for when you’re happy, a song for when you’re sad and depressed, a song for when you’re lonely and a song for when you’re in love. There are even songs for when you want to kill yourself. Music is that diverse. However, not everyone agrees with the fact of music being a necessary part of our lives.
According to the Founder and CEO of Amen Scientific Herbal Hospital, Dr. Sheikh Amin Bonsu, music is just a waste of time and for people with nothing better to do with their lives. In his opinion, any full grown man who is into showbiz especially music is not serious in life and can’t possibly be an effective business man. In a recent interview, he revealed that the only musicians he knows of are Shatta Wale and Stoneboy and that’s only because those two are literally everywhere and there’s no avoiding them.
“I don’t have time to listen to music because I am a very busy man. It takes hard work to be successful in business, not music. No business minded man is a fan of music”, he said. Maybe the accomplished doctor is indeed too busy to pay attention to any music that isn’t literally forced down his eardrums, but if he gives music a chance we’re sure he’ll find a genre he actually likes and learn to appreciate it for the alternative “healing” it offers. Or maybe he is referring to those over 40-year old men calling Shatta Wale “Daddy” under every post, and if that is the case we would be forced to agree with him.
