Ghanaian boxer Braimah Kamoko has in recent weeks been in the news for being on the run. Bukom Banku, set to stand trial for assault, has missed the past few court dates.
After missing out of the first date, the judge issued a bench warrant for his arrest but even after that the police were unable to locate him.
However, at the most recent court date, Banku’s lawyer turned up and explained to the judge that his client had not run from the law but was actually sick.
To prove the assertion, the lawyer reportedly provided the trial judge with a medical report.
Banku was thus granted bail in the sun of Ghc 30,000 with two sureties.
The case would be resumed on June 21st 2018, at which date Banku would be expected to be back in court.
