The sole adult among the group of boys who gang raped a girl in Bantama and filmed it has been found guilty of defilement and conspiracy to defile.
The Kumasi Circuit Court hearing the case has thus sentenced him to 7 years in prison.
Last year Ghanaians were left in a state of shock when a video leak showed five guys holding down and forcibly gang raping a girl.
The video sparked massive outrage and the boys were later arrested.
As the sole adult in the group, 20 year old Ernest Asare was tried and sentenced as an adult and received the seven year sentence. The other four suspects were referred to juvenile court for their own sentencing.
