The five time world footballer of the year seems set to open another chapter in his career as he is close to a move away from Madrid to join the seven time consecutive Scudetto champions.
According to numerous reports across sports portals around the world, Ronaldo has agreed to join Juventus with Real Madrid set to receive a huge transfer fee for their crown jewel.
Goal.com reports that Ronaldo and Juventus have agreed on a four year deal with the Portuguese set to earn €30m per season.
“Goal can confirm the 33-year-old is close to completing a move to the Serie A side, having already reached an agreement over a four-year contract worth €30 million per season.” the website, one of the premier footballing sites in the world, reports.
“Juventus still have to negotiate a fee with Madrid and are expected to have to pay upwards of €100m, but could go as high as €120m.” their report adds.
Ronaldo joined Madrid in 2009 from Manchester United for a then world record fee of €94m. He has since gone on to win four best player in the world awards to add to his first, and over the past three seasons has led Madrid to an unprecedented three Champions League crowns in three years.
It remains to be seen if Madrid and Juve could agree on a price, or whether this turns out to be another summer game for an improved contract which Ronaldo has been playing with his club side every summer the past few years.
