The Police Officer, Lance Corporal Federick Amanor who was spotted in a video brutalizing an innocent female client at Midland Savings and Loans has been arranged to appear before the court today 23rd July 2018.
Lance Corporal Amanor was arrested after the video was leaked on social media causing public outrages.
According to reports, nursing woman, madam Patience Osafo after several hours of waiting in the bank trying to get an amount of GHC250 withdrawn from her account, was told to go home and come back the following day because it was time for the bank to close.
After several attempts to get this “poor and helpless” woman out from the bank had failed, an AK47 armed Police Officer Lance Corporal Amanor who was then in charge of security at the bank, exhibited his abusive character and mercilessly brutalised the woman and her baby.
President of the Republic, His Excellency Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo publicly announced on his official Twitter handle that he is in support of whatever punishment that will be given to Lance Corporal Amanor by the IGP.
This was what the President tweeted.
“Policemen are meant to protect citizens, and not to assault citizens. The measures that the IGP has taken to sanction the erring policeman, and to make sure these things don’t happen again, have my complete support. I support 100% the measures he has taken so that we can stop these incidents from proliferating”.
