Former Blackstars and Chelsea midfielder, Michael Essien has tipped the Athletico Madrid midfielder, Thomas Partey as the best player to be given the Black Stars captaincy.
Thomas Partey for some time now has been playing the role as captain of the senior National Team in the absence of Asamoah Gyan.

However, according to the retired Chelsea midfielder, such a player like Thomas Partey who has been doing pretty well both in his club (Athletico Madrid) and also in Black Stars, should be made the new Captain of the Senior National team.

Michael Essien in an interview on TV3 said, “There are good players in the team but I think Partey is doing great and he can lead the team.
He is doing wonderfully with his club and the National team as well, he captained the team on a few occasions and I think he will be a good leader.”
