A communicator for the NDC, Opare Addo, says people would die in this country the day government decides to shut down Menzgold.
Speaking on Kokrokoo on Peace Fm, Opare Addo said many Ghanaian depend on their earnings from the company and some would be enable to survive without that.
The past week has been trying for the gold trading company and its customers, with a letter from the SEC addressed to the company directing it to shut down leaked to the public.
Menzgold has temporarily suspended its workings for now, but are fighting the issue, having retained a world renowned law firm to fight the SEC.
Menzgold’s customers have made it clear they want the company to remain open and Opare Addo echoes those sentiments.
He argues that many people would die from shock if the government allows the company to collapse and they lose their investments.
