A newlywed couple have been struck with immense tragedy after they were involved in an accident whilst headed to their wedding reception.
The accident left the groom dead from his injuries, whilst the bride is reportedly in critical condition in the hospital.
Disu Kamaru got married to Janatil Firdawl Yakubu in a beautiful Islamic ceremony on Saturday.
After the ceremony, they were in their bridal car on their way to the Africana Guest House near the Atomic Roundabout for the wedding reception when they had an accident around Madina.
Reports of how the accident occurred contradict each other, but it led to the death of the groom and the hospitalization of the bride.
The shocking accident occurred barely after they had been joined together as man and wife.
The two families have been left in shock and social media abounds with condolences towards the deceased Kamaru, who is an old student of St John’s Grammar School.
Joy News reports that Kumaru would be buried on Monday (today). Astonishingly, the bride still does not know what happened to her husband and her family dread how they would break the news to her.
