The first lady of the most powerful nation in the world United State of America has just arrived in Ghana today Tuesday, October 2, 2018. She is in Ghana as part of her tour to some four African countries.
Mrs Trump arrived at the Jubilee lounge of the Kotoka International Airport at precisely 10:06 am Ghana time. Mrs Trump was welcomed by the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana Mrs Rebecca Akufo-Addo with a lovely display of Ghanaian culture through drumming and dancing at the airport.
One very significant thing is that the arrival of Melania Trump in Ghana did not generate that kind of euphoria, energy, enthusiasm, and hype like when Barrack Obama and Michelle Obama came here in 2009.
Melania will depart Ghana on October 4 and visit neighbouring African countries Malawi, Kenya, and Egypt to promote the First Lady’s Best campaign which she launched in May this year. This campaign is geared towards promoting the well-being of the youth, preaching against cyberbullying and drug abuse in Africa.
This campaign visit was announced at a reception for wives of world leaders held on the sidelines of the 73rd United Nations General Assembly, in New York.
This visit is being organized together with the United States Aid Agency (USAID) and will involve these four countries, described by Mrs Trump as beautiful and different countries in Africa that have work hand in hand with the USAID in various areas.
Melania who was born in Novo Mesto, a town in Slovenia on April 26, 1970, is the wife of the 45th President of United States of America Donald Trump.
