BET Award nominee Kwesi Arthur has bemoaned the state of Ghanaian music and how very little how songs are able to penetrate the international market.

According to Kwesi Arthur, compared to the Nigerian music industry and Nigerian songs, our industry is a pathetic joke when it comes to making waves abroad.

Kwesi Arthur made his complaints during an interview with Cape Fm.

“Ghana music is lost when making reference to international recognition comparably to Nigerain music. At LA (Los Angeles) during the BET awards, I found out that people don’t know us (Ghana music and the artistes), but the Nigerians are out there bruv.

“I went to some joint in LA and I didn’t hear any Ghanaian song being played except some Nigerain tunes. Seriously, it is as if we are not doing music at all.” he said.

Arthur added that Ghanaian artists have to keep working hard to get their music out there but at the moment, they are not there yet, especially when you look at how Nigerian acts are doing.
