Ghanaian Rapper Solomon born Adu Antwi but known in showbiz as Yaa Pono has revealed how his stage name has affected his career over the years.

Yaa Pono has not been heard in showbiz for a while now and this has got most his fans asking questions.

To him, he believes he could have achieved more as a musician in Ghana if he had adopted a better stage name early in his music career.

In Yaa Pono’s assertion, early in his career, it was difficult for the media to accept his stage name perhaps because of the sexual connotation (Pono)..

He added that most media houses always felt reluctant in playing his songs because of his stage name.

“I have very powerful songs but the media houses I went to prefer that I changed my name before they played my songs. I suffered this for a long time but it is better now,” he told Showbiz in an interview on Tuesday.
