Shatta Wale’s music video which was described as banal in the wake of its release has won the Best African Video at 2018 All Africans Music Awards (AFRIMA).
Shatta Wale beat the likes of Shane Eagle (South Africa), Toofan (Togo), Sauti Sol (Kenya), Dadju (Congo), Fatoumata Diawara (Mali), Hamza EL Fadly (Morocco), Bebe Cool (Uganda), Bruna Tatiana (Angola) and Tiwa Savage (Nigeria) to win the award.
‘Gringo’ which was released eight months ago has garnered 2 million views on Google’s video sharing platform, YouTube.

The 2018 AFRIMA was hosted for the first time in Ghana at the Accra International Conference Centre (AICC) and according to reports, it was a success.
