About two weeks ago self-acclaimed Dancehall King of Africa Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jnr aka Shatta Wale made history in faraway London when he hosted his first European ‘Reign Concert’.
Shatta Wale single-handedly headlined and filled the iconic O2 Arena in London up to the brim to the amazement and bewilderment of many people all over the world. He has even received plaudits from the biggest Dancehall artist in the world Vybz Kartel.
After the show, the Dancehall King Shatta Wale made an appearance on DJ Edu’s show known as ‘Destination Africa’ on BBC 1XTRA. He took part in the #Chalicechallenge freestyle session on the show and Wale received a lot of bashing from social media lovers who thought perhaps his delivery was way below the level expected for an artist of his calibre.
BBC XTRA1 has released the official video of Shatta Wale’s freestyle session on their network and there is a sharp contrast or difference between what they put out and what circulated on social media some few weeks ago. In this video, you could clearly see and come to the conclusion that his freestyle session was very much on point.
