Kafui Danku Praises Golden Movie Awards For Early Promotion Of Next Year’s Awards – Says Ghana Movie Awards Can Learn A Lot From Them

Despite its relatively short time in existence, the Golden Movie awards has shot into prominence as the premier awards scheme not only in the country but across the entire continent of Africa.

The efficiency of the organizing team in getting things into place tends to end with the award scheme itself running smoothly, in sharp contrast to the mediocrity Ghanaians are forced to endure in almost every other award show.

The complaints are familiar, from technical challenges on awards night to bias in the selection process and final shows that run too long. The Golden Movie Awards rarely has to deal with any such challenge.

This year’s event went through without a hitch, from the movie submission process to the empanelling of a world-class jury to select the award-winning films and the final, successful awards night itself.

Actress Kafui Danku is one person in the industry who has taken notice of the professionalism with which the awards – run by former hit singer Mimi – are organized.

Mimi is now a successful entrepreneur and director of the Golden Movie Awards and earlier today, she announced the upcoming 2019 edition of the awards, which would be held in June next year.

The uber early announcement impressed Danku, who commented on the efficiency with which the GMA’s are run and called for the Ghana Movie Awards to learn a thing or two from it.
