The main suspect in the murder of the Tema Community 4 Assemblies of God pastor is likely to undergo psychiatric evaluation, according to the Police.
The suspect is the nephew of the deceased pastor, Reverend Nabegmado, and is currently in police custody after he was arrested trying to flee the scene of the crime and nearly lynched.
He has been speaking after his crime and a lot of his ramblings do sound like that of a mentally unstable person, leading the police to speculate that he is likely to be sent for a mental examination once arraigned.
The PRO of the Tema Regional Police Command, DSP Joseph Benefo Darkwah, told Adom Fm earlier today that a psychiatric evaluation of the suspect is all but certain.
“The suspect is currently in our custody and I do not want to go ahead of judgment but it is very likely a mental examination to determine the state of mind will be ordered by the court if he is arraigned,” he said.
The suspect, as we’ve published earlier today, claims his uncle (the pastor) was a fake man of God who was using ‘juju’ to kill members of their family and of the church as well which is why he had to end him.
Listening to him one gets a distinct impression that not everything is ‘ok’ up there and the police must see that too which is why the DSP made the comments he made.
