Showbiz Is Forcing Me To Become More Friendly — Says ‘Almighty’ King Sarkodie

The almighty king of Ghanaian showbiz, Michael Owusu Addo aka Sarkodie, has once again spoken up on the ingrained perception Ghanaians have of him that he’s closed off, rude and arrogant to his fans.

This is a perception that has lingered for a while because Sarkodie has had many opportunities to discard it yet every time he fails and behaves more snobbishly to his fans.

The ‘Gboza’ rapper has often excused his behaviour with one excuse and according to him it’s because he’s a quiet person by nature and does not like interacting with people.

The Almighty King Sarkodie cannot pay homage to the fans making him who he is, no, he has to remain in his shell even when those who spend their money to allow him live a privileged life just want a small interaction with him.

In a recent interview on GhOne TV with Eli Kharis on Rythmz Live, Sarkodie said if not for showbiz he would have no desire to mingle with people.

“We [Artistes] aren’t robots so just because I’m on Tv doesn’t mean Sarkodie is on auto-pilot when it comes to living life. We’re in a way sacrificing our lives for your entertainment but then again we’re still humans. There are things that can happen that you’ll be disappointed but then again you’ve to remind yourself that I’m human.” he said.

“I’ve certain lifestyles that you appreciate but that doesn’t make me PERFECT. I think the pressure on us [Artistes] or most of the artistes want to please their fans so it makes it very hard.

“Naturally, for me, I’m a quiet person so people think I try to put a picture out there to make it seem I’m the best human being in life, It’s just not me. Actually because of showbiz is where I’m being open and try to socialize a bit more. I’m really the quiet type who likes to stay at home. My persona would attract certain kind of people who are also similar and relate to you. That is why there are diverse role models that you can go with so I just want people to understand that we’re human beings and mistakes are bound to happen.” Sarkodie added.

So it turns out it’s the obnoxious masses who are forcing poor Sarkodie to be a friendly person! He’s still yet to master how to relate to fans and it’ll follow him his entire career unless he changes tack.
