Rape accusations are very serious, and as we saw recently they can haunt a victim for years after the event occurred. In that vein it’s never a trivial thing to play around with, especially when it possibly did not happen.
Chris Brown was arrested in France this week upon grave accusations of rape and has now announced his intention to sue his accuser.
Brown was released earlier today without facing any charges and has protested his innocence on social media.
Writing on Instagram, he wrote: “I WANNA MAKE IT PERFECTLY CLEAR…… THIS IS FALSE AND A WHOLE LOT OF CAP! NNNNNNNNEEEEEEEEEEVVVVVVVVVVEEEEEERRRRRR!!!!!! FOR MY DAUGHTER AND MY FAMILY THIS IS SO DISPRESPECTFUL AND IS AGAINST MY CHARACTER AND MORALS!!!!!”
He later deleted the post, but his lawyer has confirmed to E! News that they plan to sue his accuser, who claims Brown raped her in a Paris hotel.
Despite Brown’s release without charge, the investigation is still ongoing under the authority of the French Police.
