U.S Based Ghanaian Who Killed His Side Chick Allegedly Did So Because She Wanted a Break-up

The U.S based Ghanaian man who allegedly killed his own girlfriend and is currently on trial for her murder reportedly did so because he simply could not handle rejection.

A married man with two kids, Daniel Kankam killed his ‘side chick’, Somaya Husein Ahmed, simply due to the fact that she wanted to break up, prosecutors revealed during his last court appearance.

We reported on Kankam’s arrest for murder about a fortnight ago. The 45 year old Ghanaian was picked up in Alexandra, Virginia after his partner turned up dead.

Ahmed had been shot to death in her home and police arrested Kankam as the number one suspect. He was charged with murder and appeared in court for a bail hearing last week.

During the hearing, prosecutors recounted what they believe happened between the two lovebirds that led to the murder.

The two had a confrontation on the night Ahmed was killed which her phone partly recorded. She told the Ghanaian that she wanted to break up and he did not take it very well.

“You are pissing me off,” Kankam said in the recording, before grabbing her phone which ended the recording.

Prosecutors surmise that Kankam killed his girlfriend after the recording ended by placing a gun in her mouth and firing. He then texted her ‘where are you’ in an attempt to establish an alibi.

Another video on the victim’s phone shows another time Kankam threatened to shoot her, which establishes a pattern investigators believe point to him as the likeliest murder suspect.

Kankam’s wife was in court for the bail hearing and reportedly wiped away tears as she heard about the interactions between her cheating husband and his murdered sidechick.

The murder case against the Ghanaian continues.
