The news this afternoon that the DNA test which Asamoah Gyan ordered to prove his wife was a serial cheat to allow him to have their marriage annulled ended up vindicating her is definitely going to have some severe consequences on their ongoing court case.
Asamoah Gyan is seeking for an annulment of their marriage, which would cancel the marriage from the books, as if it never happened, thus enabling him to escape paying any compensation or alimony to his wife Gifty.
Getting a marriage annulled is no easy task and proving that his wife has been cheating on him for over a decade was what Gyan was hoping would get him the annulment. However, with the DNA test proving the kids are his, it’s more likely that they would be granted a divorce rather than an annulment.
A divorce would entail Gifty to some compensation packages as the wife of Asamoah Gyan and you can be sure that’s not going to be cheap. Also, with the route that Gyan has taken in trying to paint his wife as a cheat, it’s more likely her lawyers are going to dig in and try to extract the maximum they legally can.
The case is now set to go on with the DNA results settling the paternity of the kids once and for all but Asamoah Gyan’s misery is just about to begin.
