GC Exclusive — CEO of First Allied Savings and Loans Allegedly Raped Ghanaian Lady during her Childhood Even Though She Regarded him as A Father

The issue of rape and s*xual assault has received a big spotlight in Ghana ever since the brave lawyer Kuukuwa Andam narrated her nasty experiences of rape at the hands of some powerful Ghanaian men.

Like in many other jurisdictions where such allegations are made, such an open revelation of a hitherto taboo topic opens a floodgate and many other ladies who had felt muzzled and could not speak up are able to open up and narrate their own terrible experiences of rape.

After the President of the Ghana Bar Association (GBA) was accused of rape by Kuukuwa, another powerful and well-connected man has also been accused of rape, GhanaCelebrities.Com has learned.

Nana Yaw Oduro, CEO of the First Allied Savings and Loans Company and A Life supermarket chain, allegedly raped a Ghanaian lady many years ago when she was a child and looked up to him as a father figure.

The lady in question, Irene Antwi, narrated her ordeal at the hands of Oduro, whom she described as a dear friend and trusted confidante of her mother.

According to her narration, Oduro’s raped her as a child during a time he was a tenant of her family. She said her mother implicitly trusted Oduro and she (Irene) saw him as a father figure to replace the Dad she never had, but unknown to her he had his own nefarious intentions and abused her.

The incident left her with scars which followed her for life, she said, revealing she only gathered up the courage to confront him for what he’d done in 2017, but with his powerful connections, he was able to escape scot-free.

So far, even though many ladies are telling their stories in Ghana about what they have suffered, not even one powerful person has been punished, legally or otherwise, by such incredible accusations which could destroy careers if made anywhere else in the world.
