Breakups happen all the time and normal people are able to accept it is a part of life and move on.
However, for some they can never accept the rejection and take things to the extreme end, such as the case of an obviously crazy lady who run over her ex-boyfriend and his new lady whilst they were innocently taking a walk down a street.
The incident occurred in the U.S State of North Carolina in the days just before Valentine’s Day.
The lady who was run down is known as Christina Benson. She was walking in Wilmington, North Carolina, with her new boyfriend when a car came out of nowhere and tried to run them down.
The guy managed to get out of the way in time but Benson was not so lucky. The car hit her, somersaulted her through the air and she only survived major bodily harm because her reflexes quickly kicked in and she extended her arms out to break her fall.
“I mean, I put my hands up just in time, had I hit that concrete without having them there, I don’t know that I would be [alive]. I don’t know that I would be here,” she said.
Benson added: “I came down on my shoulder and I just busted the side of my head. But because my hand was there, it didn’t have full impact, thank God.
Nevertheless, she sustained varying degrees of injury from the attack.
The police later discovered the perpetrator after she posted a selfie of herself with the damaged Hyundai she used in the hit and run.
She was identified as Courtnay Danielle Lawrence, ex-girlfriend of Benson’s new boyfriend. The police have currently initiated a manhunt for her and are offering $5,000 as a reward for information leading to her capture.
