The President of the Football Kenya Federation (FKF), Nick Mwendwa, has fired some powerful shots at Ghanaians over the current sorry state of the senior national team, The Black Stars.
Kenya’s national team, the Harambee Stars, play the Black Stars this weekend in the final qualifier for the 2019 African Cup of Nations, with the East Africans a point ahead of Kwesi Appiah’s team.
With the Kenyans ahead of Ghana, they are in confident mood and their FA President has decided to throw some jabs at the Stars.
According to him, the Ghana team is severely weakened at this time, especially in comparison to the team from 2010 which reached the World Cup quarterfinals.
“We are not scared of [the] Black Stars, you used to be a very big team but not anymore,” he said on Angel Fm in an interview.
“The likes of Gyan [and] Ayew, to me, I think the curtain is falling on their international careers slowly by slowly…so unless you have some fresh legs, we would be scared, [but] if you are depending on them for AfCON I’m sorry for you.” he added.
The Black Stars face Kenya in the final qualifying game for the 2019 African Cup of nations this weekend, with Kenya leading Ghana by one point in the standings.
