The much-talked-about 3Music Awards came off Saturday, March 30, 2019, at the Fantasy Dome where a lot of drama and spectacular performances were experienced on the night.

At the end of it all, Dancehall artiste, Shatta Wale emerged as the overall winner as he grabbed 8 awards out of 11 nominations including the biggest accolade “Artiste of the Year”.

There have been a lot of questions and brouhaha on why Shatta Wale won 8 awards with Sarkodie winning nothing on the night?

Well, the CEO of 3Music Awards, Sadiq Abdulai Abu in an interview with Hitz FM has explained why Shatta Wale won 8 awards on the night.

According to Sadiq, it was the public that helped Shatta Wale to sweep 8 awards and not the Board and Academy. Sadiq revealed that Shatta Wale did not even get enough votes from the Board and Academy.
