Father of Cardiff City Footballer who Died in A Plane Crash Dies of A Heart Attack Three Months Later


The father of Emiliano Sala, the Cardiff City footballer who died in a plane crash earlier this year, has unfortunately followed his son into the afterlife.

Horacio Sala died of a cardiac arrest earlier today, April 26th, in the town of Progreso in Argentina.

The 58-year-old died just three months after the death of his son Emiliano, a professional football player. Sala had just joined Cardiff City football club from French club Nantes when he died in a plane crash whilst returning to Wales from France.

Sala’s death caused a huge media firestorm, and a search for his body in the English Channel eventually led to the plane and its wreckage being discovered.

Horacio was devastated due to the death and has never recovered from the heartbreak. A local Argentine politician, Julio Muller, said the father “…could never get over Emi’s death.”
