Former Host of Peace Fm’s ‘Asomdwe Nkomo’, Maame Afia Konadu has Died

A veteran former radio presenter with both the Despite Group of Companies and the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation, Henrietta Afia Konadu Twum, popularly known as Maame Afia Konadu or simply Maafia, has died.

Maafia passed away on Wednesday, May 1st 2019, in the United States after contracting an illness. She was 68.

Maafia was the host of the popular Peace Fm shows ‘Asomdwe Nkomo’ and ‘Wo Ha) ne S3n’ for many years. She was a teacher by profession before becoming a broadcaster.

She previously worked with the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation (GBC) before being recruited to Peace Fm by Dr Osei Kwame Despite himself when he started the new station.

She retired from active service in 2015 after ten years with the Despite Group.
