Last weekend, Game of Thrones aired the 4th episode of its 8th and final season, and the episode ended on a sorrowful note for Queen Daenerys Targaryen, who after losing one of her dragons, also lost her beloved advisor Missandei.
The translator from Naath was beheaded by the Mountain, at the behest of Queen Cersei Lannister (only for GOT fans).
The actors in the scene have had a bit of playful banter offscreen following the airing of the episode. Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who plays the Mountain Gregor Clegane, issued an apology to Nathalie Emmanuel, who plays Missandei, for beheading her and essentially getting her fired off the show.
“So sorry,” Hafþór wrote accompanied by a photo of himself and Nathalie on Instagram.
“Cersei made me do it. Hope we’re cool,”
Emmanuel has played Missandei on the show since Season 2, when Daenerys saved her from a life of servitude and made her a confidante.
The actress also penned an emotional letter to mark her leaving the show, which she also posted on Instagram
