The dancehall star has nominated Samini as the artist most deserving of the VGMA Artist of the Decade Award, which is a new award from Charterhouse to Award the best artist over the past ten years.
The four big ‘S’ of the industry, Shatta Wale, Stonebwoy, Samini and Sarkodie are all competing for this award, but Stonebwoy says his ‘godfather’ Samini deserves it considering the time frame in question.
“He set the tone. To be honest he won the Music of Black Origin (MOBO) when no one knew about it. Samini was the first artiste to work for a telecommunication company in Ghana, he also won an MTV award,” he said.
“Samini Dagaati has done it and that is something and every person in the category, especially Sarkodie, Efya, Joe Mettle and R2Bees can respect that.” he added.
