K.K Fosu Names His Choice for VGMA Artist of the Decade — Check Out Who He Chose

Highlife star K.K Fosu has revealed his choice for VGMA Artist of the Decade, and his choice would not surprise you so much if you consider his own history in the industry.

The 20th edition of the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) has introduced a transcendent ‘Artist of the Decade’ Award, which is to honour the artist who has been on top of the game for the past 10 years ahead of every single one of his peers.

So far, despite 10 artists being nominated, the battle looks like it would come down to a top 3 of Samini, Sarkodie and Shatta Wale. Most of the arguments floating around by musicians, critics and the public seem to centre around these three giants as favourites for the honour.

Those siding with Samini cite his longevity in the industry and ability to release hit after hit and still stay relevant, which is the same arguments K.K Fosu cites to choose Samini as ‘the one’.

According to him, no one deserves the award more than Samini.

”You can’t be an artiste of the decade if your stage performance is not top class. You need to make the fans have a feel of your talent not only in the studio but on stage as well,” he said in an interview with the Ghana News Agency.

”For me personally, Samini has been very consistent in the music circles over the past decade and has demonstrated his splendid stagecraft at various shows both on the local and international stages as well. So I think he deserves the award,.’

K.K Fosu and Samini go way back, to their genius collaboration with ‘Kokoveli’ which produced some of the biggest hits in Ghanaian music history. It’s no surprise he would root for Samini, even though we can say he deserves it just as much as any of his other contenders.
