Whilst they might have free rein down here to do whatever they like, in other parts of the world being a pastor does not mean carte blanche.
A Ghanaian pastor in the Netherlands has found this out the hard way as he’s being prosecuted for s*xually molesting two sisters for several years during their childhood and teenage years.
Pastor Rans D, 58 years of age, co-founded the church with the mother of the two girls, Judith and Stephanie. Thus they spent a lot of time with him as a trusted family member when they were children and that was when he took the chance to abuse them.

Prosecutors say the abuse took place when the girls were children. For one it happened from when she was five years old till she was twenty, whilst for the other it started from age eight till she was eighteen.
Pastor Rans D molested the girls by inserting his fingers into their private parts, other times by claiming he was carrying out ‘spiritual cleansing’. The abuse occurred in every room in his house, his car and sometimes even on church premises.
The abuse was discovered by the family earlier and the pastor begged the girls to ‘forgive and forget’, but the matter was reported and he has been on trial since.
At the last court date in the Hague, prosecutors requested a six-year sentence for the preacher, plus a ban for him practising his craft for at least nine years.
The girls are also demanding compensation of €25,000, whilst one of them is demanding an additional €20,000 for having her education delayed due to the abuse.
Final judgement in the case would be delivered on the 29th of May.
