Sad Story of Kumawood Actress Who Spent All Her Money On ‘Evangelism’ and Now Sells Jollof Rice to Survive

The obsession with religion in this country transfers to celebrities as well, and every once in a while one of them puts their career on hold to become a man/woman of God.

The examples are endless – Lord Kenya, Ofori Amponsah, Yaw Siki, Kaywa and many others.

We have one more name to add, Kumawood actress Gloria Kani.

Kani has revealed that she put her career on hold to become an evangelist but that has rather ruined her.

Speaking to ZionFelix on his show ‘Uncut’, Kani said after she became born again, she decided to spread the word of God on radio.

That entailed paying Ghc 1,200 to a radio station in Kumasi every month to spread the word of God. Since she doesn’t have any sponsors, Kani said she used her own money to pay the fee and that has practically bankrupted her.

She added that she has now been forced to sell jollof rice just to survive. She also said she has a couple of other businesses that she’s running and she hopes to make enough to pay the Ghc 1,200 per month and get her evangelism back on track.
