Highlife artist of the year, Kuami Eugene, has broken his silence in the wake of allegations leveled against his brand.
The young artist and veteran musician Amakye Dede in a magnificent performance thrilled patrons at the recent VGAMs with highlife tunes.
Just as they ended their show, Amakye Dede surprisingly honoured, Kuami Eugene with a crown on his head.
He explained that the crown proof the artist has taken over highlife to the next level over the years, so he is a living legend for the highlife brand.
Week after the incident, news are rife that Kuami Eugene and Amakye Dede planned to shun other artistes who deserve it more.
Some suggest it disregard the likes of Bisa K’dei, Kwabena Kwabena and others.
Reacting to the news, Kuami Eugene has said nobody deserves it better than him.
According to him, he’s won the ‘Highlife Act Of The Year’ ‘back to back’ without competing with anybody.
“I’ve won ‘Highlife Artiste of the Year’ back-to-back. Let me say that alone proves I am doing highlife well. I do live performances too and if I have been crowned Highlife act of the new era, I don’t think there is anything bad about it. He said.
“It was a good feeling and performing with Amakye Dede was a blessing. With the crown, it is also a blessing upon my life. I think it’s a negative vibe to say he was forced. Why can’t we appreciate goodness when it happens,” He added.
