PHOTOS From the Scene As Shatta Wale’s Father Turns ‘Jackie Chan’ and Fights Opponents at Launch of SM Fan Club

The planned launch of a new Shatta Movement fan club in Ngleshie Amanfrom over the weekend turned into a high octane clash between two factions that had to be busted up by police.

Shatta Wale’s father, Charles Nii Armah Mensah, was the organizer of the launch of the new fan club but as he was embroiled in a chieftaincy dispute, another faction turned up to disrupt proceedings.

According to reports, the chief of the area, Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV, has complained that Shatta Wale’s father is carrying himself out as the chief and representing himself as such.

Thus the chief and his supporters decided to disrupt the launch which led to a clash between them and the supporters of Charles Mensah Snr.

The clashes turned bloody and could only be dispersed by the efforts of the Ghana Police Service.

Speaking after the clashes, the chief of the area said Wale’s father caused the clashes with his claim to be actual chief of the area.

“He is claiming himself as the custodian of the area. So he is telling people that he is coming to launch the fan club, but it is a lie. We will not sit down for that to happen,” Nii Kwashie Gborlor IV told CitiNews.

“As a gazetted chief, I will act according to the law so this won’t happen. I respect the law. We have given a letter with the police and we have informed the National Security.”

Shatta Wale himself was not present at the launch but reports placed some of his ‘militants’ at the scene.
