Stop The Unnecessary ‘Anti-Nigerian Stereotyping – We’re All Made Of Good And Bad People – Gabby Otchere-Darko

Legal practitioner and owner of ‘The New Statesman Newspaper’, Gabby Otchere-Darko, has said Ghanaians should stop criminalizing Nigerians because all Nigerians are not criminals.

According to the politician, Nigeria is the largest African state and where ever they dominate there are equally good and bad people in their midst.

He revealed Ghanaians are engaging in unnecessary anti-Nigerian stereotyping that isn’t helping.

He noted Ghanaians outside the country would not be happy if the same treatment is meted out to them.

The NPP’s deep throat has taken to his Facebook page to defend Nigerians who are apparently tipped to be behind the recent incessant kidnaps in Ghana.

He wrote; “Imagine living in Europe, and waking up almost daily to headlines such as “Another Ghanaian Arrested”. That is how being a Nigerian in Ghana feels. Some of us have been saying this for years but with no impact. Stop the anti-Nigerian stereotyping! We keep reinforcing an unfortunate image that Nigerians are criminals. Even where a gang of 4 Ghanaians and 1 Nigerian robs a bank, we are told the Nigerian either “subcontracted” or “recruited” the Ghanaians. Indeed, almost half of West Africans are Nigerians, so Nigerians are bound to have the highest number of both good and bad people in our region, on our continent.#StopCriminalisingNaija
