Ghanaian Tv Personality Chosen to Host the Red Carpet of the 2019 BET Awards

Fast rising Ghanaian actress and television personality, Haillie Sumney, has landed the honour of hosting the red carpet of the 2019 BET Awards.

Whilst none of our musicians, including loudmouthed Shatta Wale, could land a nomination for the prestigious award ceremony, at least Ghana would be represented in a fashion by Haillie.

Haillie has become a familiar name in recent times after appearing as host of numerous shows. She’s hosted the Ghana Movie Awards red carpet, the 4Syte Tv Awards and the maiden Ghana Entertainment awards in New York in 2017.

The former nurse also landed a role on Yvonne Nelson’s tv show ‘Heels and Sneakers’.

The 2019 BET Awards come off on Sunday June 23rd at the Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles, California.

4Syte TV, would cover the red carpet for its African viewers with Sumney as host.

“I’m so excited about Sunday’s show because I was there last year and the experience was great. As was the case last year, there are no nominations this year but I’m happy I will be on the red carpet to make Ghana proud,” Sumney told Showbiz.

The list of nominees for the awards can be found here. Nominees for the Best International Act category are AKA (South Africa), Aya Nakamura (France), Burna Boy (Nigeria), Dave (U.K.), Dosseh (France), Giggs (U.K.) and Mr Eazi (Nigeria).
