I Didn’t Vote for This S### – Water Tariffs to Go Up 18% Mere Days After Electricity Tariffs Were Increased

The change we voted for is still yet to appear.

Instead, things seem to be going in the wrong direction, that is the same direction things were headed in that this crooked government was brought in to fix.

After being told an electricity tariff increase is on the way, Ghanaians have to deal with an impending water tariff increase as well.

The Public Utilities Regulatory Commission (PURC) has announced that water tariffs are to be increased by 8% effective July 1st 2019.

That would be bolstered by the restoration of a 10% levy meant for the operations of the  Teshie Water Desalination Plant.

That brings the total increase to an 18% increase in water tariffs, on the back of the recently announced 11.7% increase in electricity tariffs.

Effective 1st July, Ghanaians are going to pay more to use the same amount of electricity and water, and with the increases occurring concurrently only God knows how much more you have to spend just to keep yourself alive in this hellhole called Ghana, what with wages remaining stagnant whilst prices of goods and services continue to soar.

This is definitely not the change we were promised!
