‘This Block Headed Coach has Started Again’ – Ghanaians Roast Kwesi Appiah After Benin Draw

Black Stars head coach Kwesi Appiah has come under fire from Ghanaians after the team opened their Afcon campaign with a 2-2 draw against Benin.

Despite being overwhelming favourites, the Stars managed to mess up. After taking a 2-1 lead, John Boye got a red card early in the second half and Benin equalized later to end the game in a draw.

Kwesi Appiah did not help himself by describing the game as a ‘good one’ in his post-match press conference but Ghanaians had already started descending on him before then.

On comment sections all over the web, he’s being roasted for being clueless, blockheaded and many other unsavoury adjectives.

One commenter wrote: “This block-headed coach has started it all again! Soon he will find every excuse to tell Ghanaians that, after all Ghana- Benin game has been the best in the tournament after we have been kicked out at the group stage, just as what has been saying Ghana- Germany game was the best in 2014 World cup tournament in Brazil.”

Another added: “Gh soccer will never go anywhere but into the pit if this man is allowed to continue playing ampey with our beloved bstars. If I had my way I will lash him mercilessly. Stupid man”.

“He is not serious. He lacks intelligence in understanding the game. I have no more tolerance for this stupid fool. He must be fired with immediate effect” Yet another pissed off Ghanaian fired.

It was scarcely better on twitter where Ghanaians came out in force to attack the coach after the GFA posted the final result of the game.
